The paint is some type of red enamel, the gentleman who did the rims is a professional sign painter

They must be a fairly lightweight set of wheels then.

Each, of course.
Seriously, nobody is building and selling custom-built billet aluminum 18" wheels for $500ish a set. Throw down if you want a set of nice wheels.

Understood, but wheels make the car.
Today a $500 wheel is really not all that expensive. Builders of the nicer Pro-Touring cars often pay $1500+ each for the best forged 3-piece lightweight wheels for their cars. Pontiac guys gladly pay $1000+ each for the rare and coveted original Hurst wheels, I'm one of them. Best part about the Hurst wheels besides how they look is if you ever get tired of them and decide to sell, you'll get every penny back that you spent. Most of us have 30K, 50K and sometimes upwards of $100K or more invested into our cars. Paying 3 to 10K for just the right set of wheels and tires to top it all off and make a statement is really no big deal, not to me at least.

I coughed up 400/wheel for my 18" mag g's. Theyre now closer to 500. You cant find any american made wheel for cheaper than billet specialties i dont think. Wheels are just downright expensive.....then theres forged wheels.

Here they are on the car, the front is little bit too low IMO, think it needs to come up 1-2 inches forthe "redline" rim to work better with wheel opening. Additionally, oil pan is only about 3.5 inches off the ground. The suspension is SC&C AFX with SPC Performance springs.

Should also add that the size / look of the wheel was dictated by suspension and brake decisions. They came out great in my opinion
