Default Cranking speed poll

My engine turns over at what seems like a slow rpm, always has. Always being at least since I put the IMI starter on many years ago now. I never knew exactly what speed til I put my current EFI system together. With the data logging I know now that about 182 rpms is what it sees before firing. I put this in this section since I figured folks here have probably logged cranking to sort out cranking fuel, cranking advance, etc on your EFI systems. If you know, post your cranking speed and what starter/ how much gear reduction it has. This is just a curiosity thing, I'm not trying to solve any issues.
Mine is an IMI with an advertised 4.44:1 gear reduction. Cranking speed 182 rpms.

Around 180-230rpm for cranking is pretty good mate. I've got my Dad's 6L LS here that i've been sorting out and with a verrrrrrrry old battery it would drop to about 10V and crank at like 100rpm before catching. I'll take a log in the morning, but it's probably around that 180-230 range with the new battery now.

You have me curious Scott, I've never logged it.
My 454 Chevelle uses a gm LS mini starter. Don't know the reduction on those but it cranks about normal in my eyes, about what you'd expect.

On dad's GTO it's the RobbMC starter. I doubt it would log cranking well enough, I have that thing dialed to the point you touch the key and it fires off immediately, you barely here the starter. Maybe one revolution at the most.

I understand Tom. Occasionally I randomly ponder things for no apparent reason... At least it's not a RAIV cam and Rhoades lifter discussion

Probably has just as much to do with the battery you run, if not more than the type of starter.

Some of these new whiz bang batteries they have now spin these cars over so fast it would probably drive the car 20 mph. Of course they want $800-$1000 for one though.

Those XS batteries come to mind.
