Default '63 V326 Emblem Mounting

Can anyone tell me if the factory 1963 V326 trunk emblem was stud mounted? Looking at pictures of the location, it doesn't look like there could be access holes for the nuts without cutting in an area that's outside of the trunk weatherseal? Any pictures would be appreciated.
