Default 1970 GTO floormat color needed

I am going to have a set of reproduction floor mats dyed and I would like to find out the original color that the floor mats would have been with the sandalwood interior.Would they be carpet color or seats/door panels color?A picture of an original set would be great.Thank you.

Hear is a pic of an 1971 NOS one. Not sure is 70 is the same but a sandlewood 71 interior would be Dark Biege.

that looks almost identical to a set I pulled out of a 70 Bonne with a saddle interior...I think they'd go well with sandlewood

JAD,

Might I ask what product you are planning to use to dye the rubber floor mats? Have you or anyone else out there tried this before? I need a set of dark brown code 253 mats for my 70 GTO.

Thanks

I spoke with this company today . http://www.parasolinc.com/dyes_paints.asp They have a rubber dye product they finished testing today that will be for sale in the next 3-4 weeks. He told me to go to Home Depot and look at the Behr paint chips to choose my color. He said he can match any paint code they have.

Hey JAD,
I am wondering how your mats and the product mentioned above worked out. I have the same issue except I need the 1970 dark brown mats and trying to find a set has been unsuccessful.

I sent you a PM regarding the same.

I appreciate your feedback. Thanks Martie

Realize this is an old thread, did anyone have any luck with the dye? Working on a 70 GTO with Sandlewood interior, the car originally came with floor mats and I'd like to add them in the correct color too.

Thanks
