Default Trunk Latch Finish

RE: 1969 GTO, factory Carousel Red car

The latch mechanism bolted to the underside of the trunk lid - from the factory should it be natural in appearance or should it have a light fogging of body-colored paint on it? TIA

The key operated latch was installed before painting so the exposed end will have body color overspray.

From my understanding, the electric trunk latch will be natural as it was installed after painting

x2

btw, on two of my original paint cars that came with a factory installed power trunk it looks like the cars were painted with a manual trunk latch and then it was replaced with the power one later in the assembly process.
