Better motor
Hoping to get the new engine installed this weekend, finally replacing “Ol’ Lumpy”.
Still have the Round Port engine as well. I tried to sell it but attracted nothing but flakes. We’ve decided to just keep it, and maybe look for a car for it to go into. |

Pretty pedestrian. It's a '77 Trans Am WA engine, that is supposedly breathed on. We heard it running in the guy's car before we bought it. Good idle and good vacuum with just a bit of a burble. Just what we need for our creampuff!

Well, I finally got the newer engine in. There were a few trials and tribulations. First was the fact that this motor was from a ‘77, so I had to order the adapters from Butler to bolt the motor mounts to the engine. Then I found that the adapter made no difference in the driver’s side. There were two untapped bolt bosses on the drivers side that interfered with the bracket, so I just drilled and tapped those. I installed it enough to fire it up and it sounded great. Hopefully this weekend I can get all of the brackets and accessories installed.
