70, 72 Firebird fenders
I know there's a ton of demand for the early T/A fenders, but what about regular Firebird fenders? I haven't seen any advertised or offered for sale in quite awhile. What's the going price range?

With the prices of early Formulas... Nice ones should be worth good $$$$... I'm gonna guess... $400 for a nice straight rust free one..

The price of ANY fender...or body panel is really relative to the location of the buyer and seller...
It seems that shipping a body part ANY distance can easily cost $200 or more.. FWIW..

I sold a super nice set of late TA fenders for 1200.00. Shipping fenders sux. I shipped that set from Chicago to Maine. The cost was not awful at 160.00 with Grayhound but the hassle of packing them and getting them to the terminal was a pain. I would put a nice fender at about 4-5 hundred, they are pretty rare.

Not to change the subject, what is a 76 NOS Firebird Fender is worth, not sure if I will ever use it.

There is one major difference between the NOS replacement fenders and the originals. The hood hinge mounting bosses were rectangular plates with a tapped hole welded in place on the original fenderss. Some time in the 80s, that design was changed to remove the weld nut and replace it with rectangular holes for using a cage nut.
If it ever stops raining, I'm going to shoot a couple of photos. The fender is rust free. It was among the stuff I've had the longest. Mike |

Unfortunately, I've lost storage and there's a lot of stuff I'm either going to sell or scrap because I just don't have room for it. I had four or five early fenders that had some rust holes at the bottom, probably about the size of a golf ball. I cut the lower front off to get the valance panel bracket and sold the rest pf the fender by the pound.

Just slice out the inner braces and the front valance brackets, scrap the rest.

that has been the trend for awhile but at some point we are going to run out of original fenders or inner bracing.however you want to look at it

If they're rust free I would never do that, but if they're cooked at least save the important parts before scrapping them.

The top braces are worth saving as 70-72 are in their own category

I have a really nice pair of '70 fenders that I had for sale locally on CL for months, I think I was asking $250/each...I didn't get a single call.

Its not a price issue, its a very fair price, just sounds like no one in your area needs them at this time. Be patient. I would suspect they would go quicker if they were rust free and you lived in a different climate, like the northeast.
