Keith,
I stated the wrong second magazine. Not "Car Craft" but the January 1972 Issue of "Super Stock and Drag Illistrated".
I could scan the articles and E-mail them to you. Would that work?

Yep - I'm receiving them and getting organized as we speak.

Keith,
Thank you for all your help. I didn't realize all of the articles and photos I have of the car. Let me know if you want some of the ones I have when the car sat at Jim Wangers shop and the tear down of the car for paint. Followed by the re assembly.
Eric

Eric's "kids" sitting in front of his house -

Eric's '68 Bobcat convertible, as well as the Blackbird and Jim Wangers' Judge, which Eric maintained here in Detroit for about 18 years.

Per Eric:

"This photo hangs at Duggan's Irish Pub on Woodward in Royal Oak, upstairs above the photo of Addison's '67 GTX, Silver Bullet.

The photo also hangs next to the Silver Bullet photo at Beau Jack's restaurant on Maple Rd at Telegraph in Bloomfield Twp.

Gary Cocran owner of Beau Jack's, his family owned the famous Maverick's Drive In on Woodward. Gary grew up with the Adams twins who dad was from McMannis, John and Adams advertising agency. Gary would drive the Adam's '69 Trans Am convertible that Jim Wangers had set up for them with a Ram Air IV, four speed and air conditioning. And you guys thought that they where all Ram Air III's. It was born as a III but Wangers had it made into a IV. The family still owns the car.

Gary's other good friend was Steve Mair who's father was VP of GM. Steve owned several Chevy Camaros and a '70 Chevelle that beat the '67 Silver Bullet."

Keith,
Thank you for puting a lot of time into geting these up and weeding through all the stuff I sent you. I hope this helps with some of the history of the car.

I do have early pictures of the car siting on Frank Ulbrick's driveway. Both before and after the added hood and tail panel paint and side view mirror change. Let me now if you want those pictures too. along with the more recent, ok not so recent, restoration of the car in 1997 - 2001.

I also have pictures of the car just siting in the corner of Jim Wangers' shop in Warren, Michigan where his collection of street racers and Trans Am's were stored. This is where we worked on the cars with Jim's AMCI offices up front. Before he move to California in 1993.
Eric

On Saturday I gave Keith Seymore several of the orginal magzinze articles on the Black Bird, Silver Bullet, Mike Fon's '57 Vette and Mike McGauri's '69 Camaro. I am hoping that they will be able to be enlarged through the thumbnails.

I have been invited to have the Black Bird at Duggan's Irish PUB aka "DREAM CRUISE CENTRAL" on Tuesday. I'll be there with John "The Cheater" Politzer, the Black Bird's original driver, after 1PM.

On Saturday the Black Bird will be at Fresard Buick GMC with the Royal Pontiac Club of America. I'll also have my 1968 GTO Royal Bobcat 428 Convertible along with Jim Gannes' '67 GTO Royal Bobcat 428 Convertible. Brian Ballish the Black Bird's builder under Jim Wangers will be on hand too.

Bring your camera's and questions.
