Riddle Me This
Here is a fun thread for posting riddles and brain teasers. Got this idea from another forum. As these get solved, someone else post up some more. Here are a couple to get us started:
First One: 8809 = 6 7111 = 0 2172 = 0 6666 = 4 1111 = 0 3213 = 0 7662 = 2 9313 = 1 0000 = 4 2222 = 0 3333 = 0 5555 = 0 8193 = 3 8096 = 5 1021 = 1 7777 = 0 9999 = 4 7756 = 1 6855 = 3 9881 = 5 5531 = 0 2581 = ???? Second One: Three books are arranged in order (Vol. 1, 2, 3) on a shelf. The thickness of the pages of each book is 2 inches. The thickness of each cover is 1/4 inch. What is the distance from the first page of the first book to the last page of the last book? BJ

I'd say the answer for #2 is 3".
#1 has my daughter (who is smarter than me) and I stumped.

The 1st page of volume 1 will be on the RIGHT side of that book,as it sits on the shelf. The last page of volume 3 is on the LEFT side of that book,as it sits on the shelf. Cover of book 1= 1/4" Pages and cover of book 2=2 1/2" Cover of book 3=1/4" all together=3"
