gto hood dimensions, after market hood
are the after market gto hoods the same diameter across the front and rear as the original hoods. the reason i asked is i got a replacement 3 years ago for my 70 and to get clearance in the front, i had to move the fenders out about 1/4 inch. needless to say this make the nose look miss aligned. The old hood fit perfect with the nose and fenders.

I don't want to steer you wrong in case mine was a fluke, but the replacement hood I bought 6 months ago from Goodmark was the same width as 2 different factory hoods that I had.
I was setting up my front end sheet metal with the factory hoods and after finding both were rotten and full of bondo, I ordered an aftermarket one and after getting it lined up within the fender opening the gaps were the same on either side as the factory ones (I didn't touch the fender alignment). I know I have read some older posts on here that a few guys found they were wider than factory, but that is not what I found with the one I have. For reference, the Goodmark hood I have is between 53 3/4 and 53 7/8" wide at the front (hard to measure by myself).

Thank you for the information and reply. And thanks for taking the time to measure your hood for me. I will compare those numbers with my replacement hood.
