To me the best part of the whole show was when Jim Wangers got up on the stage with the band at the parking lot party and led 300 or so people in a rousing rendition of Lil GTO.
I'd love to know who on earth would have said that! I'm sure it was more of a cover for not being able to get vendors. There are just not many even close to that part of the country. Even Portland had about 10 vendors. I am surprised that Mark Neary was not there though?

I was thinking the same thing. However "The Goat Herder" was there.

I would have cobbled up a setup if there was space.

Neary was there along with Bob V. Those were 'the' two swap meet people. Nice bit of parts, just wish there were more like there were in Portland.

Dave Kennedy brought some stuff down and put in Bob's space so maybe 2.5 vendors?

I talked to the owner for a while. He said he averaged about 22 mpg on the trip and was doing 80 mph whenever he could. He was using a 3:55 rear with the 6 speed manual trans. He didn't have any troubles except for the convertible top not sealing well above the windshield. He said he was really glad that he had vintage air added to the car - he didn't want to but the shop talked him into adding it. He said that some of the drive was in really high temps and rain where they would have been roasting without the air. He was shipping it back to Georgia, not driving it.

I was the one that had to talk him into it, along with other decisions along the way. It should be back any day now; then to get all the little things finished up that didn't get worked out before the trip.

I want to thank all of those that attended the 2016 National Convention in Bellevue (Seattle) WA. The Convention was a huge success on all levels. There were 337 families registered to the Convention with 717 attendees. Total car count (not including display only cars) was 259 cars with 57 Concours, 173 Popular Vote, 11 Original owners and 18 Street Legends. This was the largest attended GTOAA National Convention in years. Who says you can't do one of these on the "left" coast! The Awards Banquet was sold out at 330 people. Over 360 people attended the Parking Lot Party to celebrate Jim Wangers' 90th birthday and yes he went on stage and sang "Little GTO". The car cruise to Snoqualmie Falls had over 100 cars lined up. To top it all off - 89 people continued on with a week long Alaska Cruise on the Carnival ship named "The Legend". We have set the bar high for the 2017 Convention in Springfield, IL. Look forward to seeing many of you there!

Although I didn't have my GTO there, we had a great time at the convention and on the Alaska cruise on the Carnival Legend! There were many very nice cars there, Snoqualmie Falls, the XXX Drive-in and Mt. Rainier were nice events that were well-attended. It was great to meet folks from around the country too. Kudos to the Northwest Legends for putting the event together!
