1980 Trans AM. I've owned a lot of Trans AMs and one that I had in the Air Force was a 80 Turbo Maroon with a red interior. It was gutless, but it was such a pretty car and handled well. If I was going to build another 80ish TA, I'd replace the engine. This car seems like a good deal IMO at $5K Buy-It-Now. It's an Indy Pace car automatic located in Florida. This is a pretty car when finished.

Those are rat turds and they were eating the seats!

I don't hate myself enough to buy that car!

Lots of interesting ones today. Here's a 71 Lemans triple white plain Jane at no reserve $2750 with painted bumpers. Located in Washington.

69 Firebird 400 NM convertible auto is back with a BIN of $21.5K. Claims to be zero rust. I think it'll sell.

That is a neat one - says he's found the VIN on the block and will guarantee it's numbers matching.

That would be fun to drive just the way it is.

I feel like taking a shower just looking at the pics.

The white '71 is interesting. What's with the 140 speedo? and the hubcaps? Original? They look more like the '66~'67 deluxe wheel discs...

The '69 Firebird is very nice. I'd drive it just like it is. Funny quote from the auction though-

A lot of people are watching this car. A 69 Judge with a story. Taken apart and a $29K BIN.

Wow. That's unique. Very cool gem somebody put a lot into.

Would not be mistaken for a Corolla.

I think you'd need a tranquilizer after driving that.

I would pay to have the inside cleaned... maybe $300? This is a nice car when done... really nice. A turbo hood affords you Z height in engine mods.No need to fit a shaker seal, which is a pain ITA. I'd love to buy this car if I could.

One very important detail seems to be missing in the '69 Judge description and photos...

I work in Dynamics testing (shock and vibe)... mostly spacecraft parts. In the three possible axes, X and Y are in the horizontal plane, with Z being up (vertical). I have a 75 Trans AM. It came with a newer shaker scoop, which was cut. I found a cherry 74 GTO shaker many years ago and paid for it. It looks the same as the Trans AM scoop, but it has a Ram Air flap.

A little known fact about the Trans AM shaker scoop is that noise is why they sealed the shaker in 1973. In 1974, the 350 GTO (Looks like a Nova) passed the noise emitting spec, so it had a Ram Air flap controlled by a solenoid.

Fitting this scoop into my Trans AM will require a modification to the baseplate. This is a fun project and I can figure out a way to make it fit. But, if I had a turbo hood, the only Z height limitation for the engine is the top of the hood, without having to mess with fitting the shaker.

This car is loaded, with pretty much every option. My Firebird collector book lists it at 5 out of 5 starts for collectability. This is an old book, but these cars are rare. An uber steal at $5K IMO. Ironical that the shaker sitting on that 69 Judge looks like a Ram Air. with an intake flap.

Made me laugh.. reminded me of Ain't Skeered and Possum on the Killed Trans Am site.

This thread can sometimes feel like an extension of that site, actually. Both interesting, just different. I never miss a new post!

Worthy of discussion, a 1964 Pontiac Star Chief 4-door with 66K original miles... BIN of $7500. It's black... never had a Pontiac 4-door. but I'd drive this "absolutely no rust" car and love it.

First picture looks exactly like the old Pontiac ads you'd find in the Saturday Evening post. 2nd pic is the last one. Located in Ohio.

Wish there were more pics but yes....that looks to be a driver alright and if it's actually as it appears, not a bad price.
