Edelbrock P4B-QJ intake
Fully CNC ported and flow tested by Dave at SD Performance. The intake flange has both bolt patterns and wide plenum areas and opened up and ported here. These intake are somewhat rare, most will have a square flange for AFB and Holley carbs only, this one has both and wider plenum areas.
We tested this intake and have been running it over the past couple of years. The flange is at the stock height and fits Ram Air and Shaker assemblies. It is tilted back slightly more than a stock intake and very close to an HEI distributor but still clears one. Price is $400 with free shipping within the US. PM or call the shop for more info, 740-397-2921.....Cliff

The flow numbers are written on the bottom of each runner. I backed up the flow testing with some dragstrip runs last Summer. It's at least as good as a fully ported HO intake from what I could see at the track, the car didn't slow up anyplace, and when I compared the runs and factored in the weather it actually showed a very slight advantage to the P4B intake.
I'm not going to use it because of the fit on my particular application, not because it came up short anyplace in terms of performance. We spent a lot of time on it porting the plenum areas under the carb and setting it up for both bolt patterns, then sent it to Dave at SD for CNC porting in the runners and flow testing. It's a nice part for someone with RAIV port size heads, which I forgot to mention in the initial add......Cliff

There is a P4B and there is a P4B-QJ.
Different intakes.

Correct, the Qj one has noticably larger runners.
Bump...

Correct, the P4B-QJ has a huge plenum area, and very large runners. It is noticeably larger under the carburetor than the square flange P4B.
I suspect the later P4B-QJ's were a transition to the Performer and the RPM, and for some reason Edelbrock decided to build two different intakes instead of sticking with the basic P4B design. The runners on this one flow in the 245-267cfm range, the bottom of each one is marked with the flow testing results........Cliff

Cliff--
Is the intake still available? I've got another thread going on whether to build a healthy 408 or just go 434 with the 4.0 stoke. Would this intake be a good fit for either? Thanks, Ron Story Portland, OR
