Fall Nationals
Randi Lyn won another round, by laying down a real good package. She needed it, because her opponent ran exactly his dial-in.
https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop In round 4. she broke out. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop Last edited by ponyakr; 10-19-2019 at 12:29 PM. |

Div 2
Michael Brand lost his 1st round, in Stock.
In the 2nd round of S/ST, Jimmy Daniel lost, but Kevin MacNicol won. I assume the '69 Bird pictured below is his car & that it has Pontiac power. But, I've been wrong before. So, if somebody knows different, please post the correct info. https://www.nhra.com/results/2019/lu...s/super-street |

Kevin has a beautiful car. His son has been killing it in Jr Dragsters for a good while. He married over his head as well. Great family and love hanging out with them at the track. Class act.

There are only 2 NHRA National Events left this season. This one is in Vegas.
Chris Stephenson is #14 on the Stock Q-2 list, at more than a sec under his index. Norman Warling is #19. Adam Strang is also running strong, at #26. I assume he is still running the 350HO. Not sure. Randi Lyn is #59. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop Bill Rink, Robert Cruzen, Carroll Warling, Brad Burton, & Leo Glasbrenner are all running Pontiac powered Super Stockers, at this race. Bill & Robert are more than a sec under. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop In Stock Q-3, Norman is #25 & Chris is #27. Both are more than a sec under. Adam is #37 @ .949 under. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop In SS Q-3, Bill Rink moved up to #4, @ 1.142 under. Robert Cruzen is #15. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop Last edited by ponyakr; 10-31-2019 at 07:24 PM. |

Chris Stephenson won D/SA. Randi Lyn Shipp was RU. Norman Warling left too soon & had to settle for RU, in the Combo-Auto class.
https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...r=100#indextop Chris & Adam Strang survived Stock E-1. Unfortunately, Randi Lyn had to run Chris 1st round. Chris ran a 10.579. That's a pretty decent pass for a D/SA Pontiac. The D/SA index for this race was 11.74. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...r=100#indextop Leo Glasbrenner & Robert Cruzen survived the 1st round of SS. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...er=30#indextop Some staging lane pics were posted on the Class Racer forum. Chris' Bird is obviously in the background of the 1st pic. Last edited by ponyakr; 11-01-2019 at 01:15 PM. |

https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...r=100#indextop Bill Rink is #2 in SS. Robert Cruzen is #5. Scott Burton is #21. Todd Frantz is #28. Leo Glasbrenner is #29. Larry Maxwell is #80. Keri Angeles Pari is #85 https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...r=100#indextop If anybody wants to go back & watch some of Thursday's action, here's a link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO4-ed-dahw And here's a link for today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08JnZVHx-dA Last edited by ponyakr; 11-08-2019 at 07:47 AM. |

Rick Unterseh cranked up the boost & moved up to the #4 position. There's a '78 Bird in #5 position. Don't know a thing about the car or driver. Anybody have any info ?
https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...er=30#indextop Bill Rink moved up to #1, on the SS Q-1 list. The little GTO is running good ! https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...er=30#indextop Last edited by ponyakr; 11-09-2019 at 12:21 AM. |

According to the specs listed on Friday's DRTV coverage, the '78 Bird has a 400 Pontiac engine. Must have just got the car together. It's blue. But the entire Formula hood is white.
Here's a link for today's Drag Racer TV coverage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZHCtKt9GiE Drag Racing trivia: The DRTV announcer said that Scott Burton flies a 747 Jet. Never heard that before. And, Leo Glasbrenner's alum head 428 powered 4th gen is now painted red, instead of white. Last edited by ponyakr; 11-09-2019 at 12:03 PM. |

C.W. Hoefer & Adam Strang had the only Pontiac Stockers to survive E-1.
https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop Bill Rink, Robert Cruzen, Todd Frantz, & Leo Glasbrenner survive SS E-1. I think those last 3 cars are all running the alum head 428 combo. It seems to be very competitive. Scott Burton & Don Kennedy also run it, as well as the Hatari 4th gen. Not sure of any others. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop Rick Unterseh reported that he was told that the guy with the '78 Bird just got the car running this week. Been there & done that. They let him run, but said he'd have to paint it before the next race. |

This is the last national event of the year. Chris Stephenson is in #1 position, in his '68 Bird, with a 10.376. Don't know if that's the best time for the car, in that class, or not. Quickest time I remember ever seeing. C.W. Hoefer, Adam Strang, & Randi Lyn Shipp, also turned in some good numbers.
https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop In SS, Robert Cruzen didn't miss the 8 sec zone too far, with his 428 powered Cobalt. Leo Glasbrenner & Art Peterson also have there Pontiac powered Super Stockers entered. https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop |

C.W. Hoefer's Stocker was the only Pontiac to survive the 2nd round of competition. And he got a bye in the next round. So, he's got the only Pontiac still in competition. The Pontiacs are not exactly going out on a high note. But, several Pontiac racers had a good year.
