Default Qjet rebuild

Anyone has suggestions on where to send a Qjet carb for an SD 455 to get it rebuilt? Thanks

There was just a thread on here about that very subject. I see you are new here. Do you know how to use the search feature? The street section might be a good place to look. At the top of that section click on ‘search’ then type qjet or quadrajet rebuild and hit go.

Ray Klemm took over building after member Cliff R stopped. I don't know if Ray is a member here, but is on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/CRKPerformance/

If this is a (stock) REBUILD, and not a RECALIBRATION, you might as well do it yourself in your garage. Buy your parts from a specialty vendor such as The Carb Shop or Cliff Ruggles. A couple cans of aerosol carb cleaner, some paper towels, and some measuring tools will be required.

A high-school kid can rebuild a Q-Jet if the core is decent, aside from bushing the throttle shaft(s) and re-plating the parts. The difficulty, and the problems, are in the non-stock "custom" work; and in the mass-market accelerator pump cups.

Read post 13 on the link....
I've read of a few folks that had Ray "do" their Q-jet. All of them were impressed with his work.

The high school kid rebuilds you refer to gave way to the Qjet being called a quadra bog carb!! Since most of these carbs are now over 50 years old and have been rebuilt numerous times by the "high school kid" technicians, I would send them out to an expert. Cliff has talked about all the wonderful modifications he's seen over the years with these Qjets and how he had to straighten them out to get the carb to run well. Sounds like Ray is the way to go here and Cliff is still available for questions you may have!

I agree and have already contacted Ray. Will remove and send in the carb when driving season is over.
