Dash grab bar lucite cracking: Can it be fixed?
I received the repop dash grab bar lucite in the mail today, and it does not meet my standards. It's a slightly different color, and it's as if they forgot to hit "Ctrl+B" when typing the font into the computer. So that leaves me looking to see if I can repair the cracking in my original piece. Does anyone have any tricks to make these cracks disappear? Heat gun maybe?

I'd find a nice used one.

I'm certainly not opposed to that, but I just assumed that perfect condition original lucite inserts don't exist anymore. I figured most have warped or cracked by now.

I used mineral oil to get cracks out of a 1950 Pontiac hood ornament. I soaked it for a couple days. It is not permanent but yours should last longer inside the car than mine on the hood.
