Antique Sign
While visiting an antique shop in Asheville, I ran across a old Pontiac dealership /shop sign and had to have it for my garage
Do anyone know the possible time era of its use? |

I'm not sure, but I think your sign is a repro. If you google "v8 pontiac sign", many similar items come up. I hope I'm wrong or you didn't pay very much!

Looks cool, I would hang it in my shop. Theres a guy on the aaca forum that seems to know all about these things. Its surprising at how many old looking signs are re-pops. Pretty big business with these things. There are stampings, numbers, etc. that can give you an idea of what it is but I dont know what they are.

A similar one sold at a Mecum auction a couple years ago: https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1019-39...ided-tin-sign/ I don't know the selling price, you have to log in to see that. It appears to be quite a bit larger, and the Indian head sticks up from the top of the sign so it's not totally rectangular - that may be a clue as to the difference between a real one and a reproduction. |
