Yes, I have the Flame Thower II with the Ignitor II. I opened another ticket with them last night since they never responded to my first ticket. I had read that the magnets in the reluctor ring are prone to falling out. Disappointed with that and the lack of response, I had very high hopes (as most people do) for this product.

On a restored car that is mainly stock I can't see going with anything other than a good set of points. I have two cars running Blue streak points and never have a problem. I have had the same set of points in one car for 20 yrs and in another for 12 yrs. I maybe put 1000 miles combined on both cars a year. Every spring I adjust the dwell once and I'm good to go. Actually I don't mind it as it's part of the fun of tinkering with old cars. Recently I removed the cap off the distributor of the car that has the 12 yr old points just to take a look. They were shiny like a brand new penny as if I installed them yesterday. As a kid I had lots of daily driver cars that used points and also never had a problem. For me points have been dead reliable.

I emailed Lectric Limited regarding your questions on the In dash tach...
Here is my question to them and then below is Dan's reply... You have recieved a new submission from Lectric Limited. The customer's reason for inquiry: ________________________________________ Comments / Non-technical Questions ________________________________________ Name: Kurt O Keller Email: kkeller73@embarqmail.com Comments: BREAKERLESS-SE ELECTRONIC IGNITION CONVERSION Part #: 38131 I have two of these wonderful kits. 1 for my 1968 Camaro and the other for my 1971 LeMans Sport 350. My question is: will this conversion work with a factory installed in dash tachometer on a 1970-1972 LeMans/GTO? Thanks so much for always being at my rescue. I am forever praising this product to everyone I talk with.... Regards....Kurt Hi Kurt, Yes it will work fine. Glad to hear that you have had good experiences with our product Word of mouth is always a nice. Thanks and have a great day. Dan

Can anyone here confirm this? I've been on the fence about ordering a Pertronix ignitor due to the tach issue and this is the first time seeing the LL kits |

Stumbled upon this site
http://www.breakerless.com/ Is this basically the same thing as the LectricLimited setup? |

I used to take a Vega (transistorized) tach circuit board (round ceramic) and install in hood tachs. Just needed quick calibration.

I used to like the idea of an HEI or electronic conversion;
I really liked the idea of a built in rev limiter function that some of them offered. Then one day I was left stranded with a a 1973 Firebird which was running an HEI; The magnetic pickup went bad. That was my introduction to the down side of low maintenance electronics. I am now absolutely a proponent of sticking with points if it's a points car - if points go bad, you can swap them out in a couple minutes with a screw driver.

I've been running GM electronic ignitions for many years (back to Delcotronic days - had one in my 63 FI split window). Have always been impressed by how reliable they are. In fact through today have had more coil failures (and one cap punch through) than anything else. Carried a HEI module in the glove for years and never needed it.
Had a Pertronix in my 66 Monza 'vert until sold. Have one for my Judge just never hooked up (RSN). Key is to have the right coil for the module. |

I´m a fan of using the ignition system on the car from factory.

As an HEI note, I have had NAPA premium modules last a year or two with only a couple hundred miles on them. I went thru 3 of them over a few years. Either I have a gremlin in the mix, or the modules are junk. I put in an Accell one a month ago, we'll see.

However, I do like the HEI's as well, but as mentioned, they can leave you stranded. I run both setups in my fleet for various reasons. Pro's and Con's all around.
