Default Tell me your favorite. Rally 1 or Rally II wheels?

Curious what all of you have for preference on your GTO/Tempest/ or Lemans? The Rally 1 or the Rally II? I am on the fence, although I presently have Rally II wheels on my '66 wagon

Love them both but I'd keep R1s on a 66. If I had a 68 and unlimited funds I'd have a set of each. Not a fan of R2s on the early cars that never came with them, personally.

No question - Rally I's on models where they were available.

Got the Rally 2s years ago (in the '80s) because I wanted 15x7 rims. Now that they have the Rally 1s new in 15x7, I am leaning towards those.

I'm replacing the stock hubcaps on my 66 with aftermarket rally ones. Also prefer the rally twos on the later models.

I put Rally II's on my '66, because they are relatively cheap and available. If I had to order Rally 1's, that would be an expensive proposition. So now I have the '67 LeMans and the Rally II's will go on it. Factory correct. Yay.

Rally 1's looked like a real Rallye wheel. Rally II's looked like a 5 spoke mag.

Personally I like both of them. Currently have 2's on my 67 but had 1's on my previous 67. Between the two I'd probably go with 1's however I'll probably be switching my 67 to steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps.

Both are cool, but I like the Rally I more. It has a mid-60s aesthetic vibe (which I prefer), whereas the Rally II has more of a late-60s and 70s vibe.

I had Rally IIs on my '66, but ditched them for steelies & dog dish caps.

Rally I’s on my Silver 67. The car was mostly original and I owned it since 1982
Rally II’s on my blue 67 just for a change of pace

I favor the Rally 1's myself. That's what the GTO came with, and I even fixed one for display in my office at work. The tire is an original Uniroyal spare out of a '68 GTO that I bought from Jeff Harper long ago.
The Grand Prix runs the other, 8's on the back.

I like them both but for me 1s on a ‘67 and older, 2s on a ‘68 and later.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Rally I was available from the factory up to 1969 and they do look great on a '68.
If this set was 15" I'd probably be running them now instead of the Torque Thrusts...

Question; I think that Pontiac invented the factory muscle car Rally wheel with the Rally I.
Can anyone think of a factory Rally wheel that predates 1965? Corvette knockoffs....maybe...but I'd argue that they are more like a factory mag wheel?

I love the Rally I's up to and including 68, 69 ??. But for some reason I like the Rally II 's for 70 and up for sure.
I often wish I would have bought a set of the 15" Rally I's for my 68 instead of the after market wheels I bought.
Just my opinion. But I always say, it's your car, make it the way you want it.

No real preference.....I like the 1's on '65-'66, and like the II's equally well on '67-up. I run 1's on my '65 and 2's on my '67, but would be fine with 1's on the '67. I don't like 2's on '66 and earlier cars, though.
