72 lemans rear hood chrome install tricks?
Is there anything one should know while trying to install the rear hood stainless trim on hood without shearing the new paint while sliding it on?

I use a product called Door Ease. It is a stick lubricant used on door strikers and such.
Makes putting friction fit trim on easy with no paint damage. |

I'll see if I can find some. I was wondering if these things have to be spread at all while trying to push on or what the trick people use.

Or pick up a small jar of petroleum jelly at your local store. It works great for rubber body plugs, rubber seals, bumpers, drip rail moldings, etc.

Lubed the hood edge with petroleum jelly and slid it on with no scrapes. But, our sponsors hood edge stainless was about an 1/8" short. I had to carefully unbend the ends of the stainless at outside edges. Unless looking close, it's hard to see. I needed the under turned lip out of the way to slide over hood edge.
