Default 17" Year One Rally 2 Aluminum Wheels

Asking for a friend. 1970 roof car GTO would like to run 17x 8" on the front and 17x9" on the back. Factory Calipers on the front and drum brakes on the rear.

Any one have experience with this upgrade to the wheels??
How about tires you run IF you have made this upgrade already?

I have the 17x9 honeycombs on my 70 GTO hard top with 275/40’s all the way around and have no issues. I would assume the rally’s would be the same

My rears are 255/70/15 and are 29" tall with NP though the 235x60R15s (26" dia) are marginal on the front. All are on 15x8 snowflakes.

Can see that the 275x40R17s at 25" dia would not be an issue.

IMHO a 275/45/17 would fill the wheel well better in back. They are 26.7", which is almost exact to stock height. I'm running a 9 1/2" wide wheel on the back of my 72 on 275/40/18's. They are also 26.7" tall
