Default best way to ship four tires from Nashville to Upstate SC??

Six hour drive. Just too far to justify.

Not poncho tires/wheels - probably no more than 200lbs on a pallet.

I figure? Forward air? Stack the four on a pallet and racheted tie-downs.

Sat on hold w/ forward air for awhile - must be post covid and no service anywhere....

Ideas??

Tires and wheels. Decent wheels. Aluminum. They need to be protected a bit.

But yeah, if they were just tires then I'd do what you said!

Thanks!

fastenel was a no-go. It's hard to find services right now. Tried another outfit/courier express - not much interest.

Anyway - appreciate the help in this thread.

If your vehicle gets half-way decent fuel economy, go get them. Take the wife/significant other.

My parents drove from central Missouri to Seattle to pick up a riding lawnmower. Had a nice vacation at the same time.

FWIW; AS MENTIONED ABOVE MOST ALL MY TIRES COME IN VIA UPS AS 2 STRAPPED TOGETHER NOT WRAPPED.
My most recent mounted trailer tires came singular unwrapped via Fed.

However, here is the UPS guide for shipping Tires;

5. Prepare tires and bare metal items to ship without a box.
While a box always offers the best protection, items like tires, exhaust pipes, bumpers and other irregularly shaped bare metal auto parts may be shipped without a box if you pack them properly – and they're within UPS parcel size limits.

Shipping tires? Wrap them in cardboard to ensure they don't grip surfaces, stick to chutes or cause jams in transit. Apply your shipping label to the surface of cardboard that covers the tread, and then place clear tape over the label.

For bare metal items, securely tape pieces of corrugated cardboard around any sharp, pointy and protruding edges. Wrap the metal tightly with a protective surface like bubble wrap or plastic film to prevent scratches and dents. Apply your shipping label to the flattest, largest surface of the item.
