Default 68 passenger door not opening?

Interior is gutted so nothing blocking access. The door handle is off and when I push in the lever I see it functioning. I can’t figure out why it’s not disengaging though. Any tips? If the fender comes off, can the door be removed from the hinge side?

If you can see the latch function where it catches the striker it has to be hung up on it somehow. Have you tried holding the lever in and forcing body weight against the door from the inside?

Also if you unbolt the hinges it will still hang up on the striker if it won't unlatch because it has a flat spot on the end of it that keeps the door from pulling forward.

Oh boy! So I don’t need it jammed on the striker hanging. I have not tried pushing outward with force yet. I guess that’s next.
It’s going to paint tomorrow so nearing the finish line I need to get this figured out.

If the inner side of the door is stripped ... push in the plunger in with one hand while lifting UP and OUT on the door by reaching inside with the other hand and grabbing one of the openings.

OMG Ihope that you don't have the problems I had with mine. I struggled for hours. My final fix was to grind off the rivets holding the door lock mechanism, then popped off the cover with a lg prybar.I used a cutoff tool to grind the rivets, from the inside of the door.Good luck
Tim
