Question Need 3 Prong Terminal Unit for Wiper Motor

Does anyone know where I can get the 3 prong terminal unit with resistor for the wiper motor on a 68 gto? See picture attached. You can see the resistor on mine is broken. The rest of the unit is in great shape and would rather rebuild then buy whole new unit.

I can't blame you for wanting to save it, cleaned it up really nice. Best bet might be to get a scrap yard uint from any G.M. and strip it. I know some parts such as the park switch are available aftermarket (Blue Streak) but the resistor?

Other option, just mend the broken one and shorten/solder the winding. Just a voltage drop for low speed and you're not driving in the RAIN, right? ?

Question

I was afraid of that. I have a switch from another unit, but it is pretty rusted. Has anyone had any luck cleaning one up with "Metal Ready" or other derust product and have it work? If so what did you use to derust? The wound wire around the resisitor is so thin, I'm afraid it wouldn't survive the process.

If it's similar to a '67, it may be as simple as obtaining a 20 ohm, 10 Watt resistor and soldering it place of the broken one. If your resistor windings are not broken, disconnect the 3 terminal device from the motor and measure end-to-end of the resistor to check it's value to be certain.

My 68 Wiper motor needs that internal Switch replaced. My motor too is very clean and I desire to use it.
