M/T valve covers on a 78 400
Thinking about installing a set of vintage M/T Aluminum valve covers....on a 78 400.....These are the ribbed black wrinkle paint ones
I have AC....and it looks like the right side may not clear compressor bracket....... Anybody done it...without using a grinder? |

There is a pubic hair width between the stock covers and the rear upper bracket as it is. There's no way that a M/T will clear without modification..

You can run them without the rear bracket . I have done this over the years.

The rear bracket was missing from my car when I bought it, and the A/C compressor was solid as a rock in place while it was operating. You don't really need the rear bracket, but I sourced a used one for originality, anyway.
