Default Bought a 1970 GT-37

I’ve been trying to buy this car for 3 years. It belonged to friend of mine who passed away last April. Scotty worked in the film industry ,was into Pontiacs and a super nice guy. It’s a pretty cool car ( atoll blue , painted white top) but basic as you can get. Plans to install the original drivetrain and pull the 400, 4 speed and 12 bolt he installed but never got to finish.

Kool car, glad you were able to get it, original 350 2bbl with 3-speed manual? That is how I remember most GT-37's being equipped. It should be a fun progect! Congrat's!

Congrats on the GT-37!

Would you know where the 670 heads came from?

Sweet... Love the Atoll Blue!

Passed on a Atoll blue 70 1/2 400 auto GT-37 in the 90's. An original XV coded 400 with its 13's. The peak lines on it's quarter panels looked like someone had driven the car between two thick steel poles. That made it enough of a let down to pass. Was holding out for a 400 3spd or 4sod 70 1/2... a tough find even back then. Today, even as solid 350 stick car, ones d#mn lucky to run across one. Will have to ck my old GT-37 Survey records, believe I only have completed surveys on 4 or 5 Atoll blue '70 1/2's.

Dumb question, what did you get for your $198.00?

The WU2 option package on a 70 1/2 T-37 Coupe or hardtop included:
-350 2bbl engine & Hurst floorshifted HD 3spd transmission
-low restriction dual exhaust with chrome splitter tail pipe extensions & cutout rear valance (same as Dport GTO)
-dechromed 14x6 Rally II wheels (JT's)
-specific springs & 1/16" larger front swaybar
-'69 Judge style body stripe
-GT-37 identification, which in '70 1/2 is white/black "GT-37" decals on the fenders & rh corner of the decklid.
-hood pins with lanyard cables

'71's & 71 1/2 GT-37 had similar content.
-Main difference from 70 1/2's was the style of D98 body stripes & '71's received cast potmetal GT-37 emblems under the Pontiac emblem on each fender.
-71 1/2 GT-37's had the GT-37 cutout in each reflective fender stripe.
-Both 71's & 71 1/2's had a potmetal GT-37 emblem on the rh side of the decklid.

Not to mention, the '71 GT-37 was hardtop only with the dual sport mirrors as part of the package.

Very nice '70 1/2 GT-37 se428bandit. I'm sure we'd all love to see more pictures of the score.

He lived in Florida when he bought this at Turkey rod run in 2007. Somebody in Florida built the engine.

As we can see by the original window sticker it didn't include the 350 engine itself (it was a mandatory option with the package). The $198 sounds about right... duals were worth about $30, exhaust tips were $22, rally wheels $85, R&H with bigger bar was typically about $10, stripes were $27 on the GTO that year and hood pins were $15 in the accessory catalog. Added up I come to $189.

In the case of this car you also benefited from the floor shift 3 speed (M13), it was a $42 option. Did the price of the GT-37 option decline when you also ordered a 4 speed or automatic? As was the case with the Firebird 400 option in 67-69.
