Default points distributor question..

On a Delco point distributor....(1966)....is there a simple off car test ...to check if condenser is functioning properly?

Also....what is the purpose of the one on the ignition coil bracket....and is it the same as the one on distributor?.......

Any input is appreciated...

Set an analog ohm meter to the highest ohms scale, hold the black lead to the case and then hold the red on the condenser's lead. The reading should dip towards the zero end of the scale, them head back to infinity. Doesn't guarantee it is good, but if it doesn't act like this it is bad.

The one on the coil is an attempt to reduce electrical noise in the radio.
