The Hurst rebuild service can ID them although if they need rebuilding the turn around time is lengthy. They come back really nice. I got one in a trade of various parts last year and it turned out to be exactly what I needed; a late 60's Super Shifter.

Is the Super Shifter the one that has to be pushed down to get into reverse?

it could be...but it may not be...some super's have the extra lever to go in reverse...

i found an NOS push down super shifter and have drug it with me for decades... sooner or later..it will make it in a car...

This thread rang a bell and I remembered that when I got my '66 I thought that something was wrong because it wouldn't go into reverse. One day I just happened to notice that it would push down like a VW Bug. At that time I tried reverse and it went right in. I swapped it later for a correct '66 shifter but have the other one hanging in my garage. I just went out and checked and it does say "SUPER SHIFTER" on the side.... I now recall swapping some emails with Pete Serio and he sent me some photos of original SS shifter balls that said 'Push' or 'Down' over the 'R'. Still have the pics somewhere.
