You'll be needing that drive shaft too!

[QUOTE=fbirdinconcord;3540136]There were definitely a few enticing cash offers. I didn't mention those in case my wife might read this, she would have that money spent in a day. If I ever give it up it will be a trade plus cash. That way I can hand her the cash and go cruising in whatever car I get in the deal. I definitely want to get it running and cruise it as is for awhile.

I think I have a set of 14x7 Jk Ralleys in my warehouse that I can restore. I will order a set of F70 14 Polyglas tires for it next week. I will also place an order for all of the repro hoses and clamps as well as a new gas tank.

There is a guy on ebay now with a set of f70 14 polys for 625 new.

Luckily the driveshaft was in the trunk.

All hoses and lines will be replaced.

Gardner exhaust fit real nice under my car. They did call me back a couple months after the purchase and said they had a plating problem with the hangers (or something like that)and wanted me to send them back so they could make it right. I thought that was outstanding customer service!!

What an awesome find. What is the line coming out above the wiper motor and is the jack base and wrench the correct color being blue. Thanks for the help my 69 TA is 98% done.

That line going into the firewall strangely enough is the windshield squirter hose for the drivers side. I have had quite a few 69 Firebirds and I have never seen one mounted like this. It places the squirter out the left hole in the center of the cowl. You can tell it was never mounted in the normal factory area as it is original paint and you can see nothing has ever been mounted there. Strange.

I just met with the original owner and he did confirm that is the original jack, base and handle. He also found the original keys in the original leather holder from Hughes Pontiac.

He is now looking for the Panasonic 8 track player and photos of the car from back then.

Here are a few pics of the keys and the Firebird awaiting an engine pull. Hopefully next week.

I'm late to this party, but another congrats to you! I didn't think there was another '69 to be found in any restorable condition, let alone this nice & complete.
I'll also add my vote for a refurbish to decent driver quality, rather than do a full resto, FWIW.
The Qjet with 5 digits & the XX was most likely the original, & it was also likely a Carter manufactured Qjet. Should have that noted on the drivers side main bowl.

On the wiper/washer hose comments,....if I'm understanding correctly, my Van Nuys '69 (350HO) is built the same way. The drivers side hose is routed through a hole punched in the firewall. Hopefully the pics I'll load will clearly show this.

Default Carb Question

I learn all the time from the information posted. I thought someone post last year that quadrajets (originals) were by Rochester, and Carter made the replacements. I don't know, just asking. What does the one on the car say, I think your car is as good as it gets for accurate information. Thanks for sharing the pictures - please do more. Jim

Jsc.......Rochester made the majority of Qjets back then. But they could not keep up with production demands, so they contracted with Carter to make them too. The Carter Qjets will have all the normal Rochester, or RP or RPD cast marks & lettering, but will also say something like "Mfg by Carter", on the drivers side of the bowl. I recall these Carter manufactured Qjets were considered by many mechanics & racers to be inferior to the Rochester made carbs. But in my years of experience in dealing with early Qjets, they all wore out in the same ways & had pretty much the same problems.
Don't recall for positive, but seems Qjets with the full 7 digit application numbers were RPD made, but Carter only used the last 5 characters, leaving off the '70', since it was used on all Qjets then.

Rochester also made units that left off the "70" because that is how mine is made. Different numbering styles were used at different times, and there was a lot of overlap between the years. There is a chart that shows the numbering styles with pictures to show each one. It also shows which years that style was used.

Sorry, I had to go find it. Also, notice that at the bottom that this says that Carter did not make any Ram Air Carbs.

My carb numbering style is shown in "Fig 4" This is a pretty nice chart.

I had a chance to get over to the warehouse today and shoot a few pics.

Transamric I am glad your windshield washer runs the same way. I was afraid something goofy might have happened to the car.

My warehouse is also my dealership so most cars you see in the pics are for sale. I do collect quite a few things and have them displayed in the warehouse. Its alot of fun.

Here are a few pics of the carb
