Default Champagne/Green?

My friend was going to sell his 69 convertible, white with 400 and 400 hood, so he ordered PHS.

Turns out it was originally 350 HO auto, with unusual color combo of Champagne with a green top.

Any chance anyone might have a pic of this color combo?

Any way to know how many convertibles might have been made with that combo?

Thanks

Probably no other built that color combo - or preserved in that combo.
But no way to determine the number produced - by color (except TA).

Champagne is a very very low production color and probably tough to find pics of any 69 that color regardless of body style or trim colors.

--- the green top sounds horrid. Maybe you guys should re-verify that code , if you haven't already double checked it. Sounds overly oddball.

What color was the interior originally ?

Have only seen 2 GTO's that color (via web) and they both had Gold interior.

Can you post a pic of the PHS?
Does the trim tag correspond with the PHS?

Gold and green generally is not an uncommon or unusual color combo.

He all, the 69 350 HO convert is my car. I'll post the PHS docs and cowl tag. One thing to note on the PHS docs is the ADV.ASSN.COL option. I'm not really sure what this means, but I've only seen it on a few cars and they were a 69 T/A RAIV and 69 400HO. If anyone knows what this code means I'd appreciate some clarification.

The car came in champagne with an auto trans, a green interior and a green top. An odd combo to be sure, my question is whether someone ordered it this way, or if Pontiac built it this way and had it shipped out? While it may be an odd duck, it certainly won't blend in the the crowd.

Also, does anyone know how to identify who bought the car? I have no idea how to go about finding out its history. I have the original turbo 400 "PS" trans, but I do need a 69 "XC" block. If anyone has one of these please let me know what you want for it.

The car is currently white with a black interior and a white top (see picture), but I have most of the interior parts to put it back in green. My plan is to built it with the original colors, including the green top. The 69 Bird on the LH side is another 350 HO 4-speed covert in palladium silver with a black top and interior. I have the complete drive train for this car and it's stripped right now. This car has a 3:55 posi, and while some people think all 69 350HO's came with a posi, it was just another option.

One more thing, I've heard the number of 350 HO convertibles built in 69 was 112. Does anyone know where this is documented, or if it's true? Another data point I'd love to see is the number of colored top 69 Firebird's built, but until Pontiac opens up the data (unlike the Martini reports for Ford) there's no way to find out.

Thanks,

Greg

Champagne has a green tint to it so a green soft top would not be out of line. Champagne is a very unique color and when sprayed right it is stunning in my opinion, at least the 67 version is.

Thanks for the info so far. My friend is trying to learn more about his car and told me he'd try to log into the site and upload the PHS.

I personally think the Champagne color looks good on these cars. Green top is odd, but that makes it more interesting than black or white, and I think it would go well with the Champagne paint.

Here's a couple other "Champagne" pics I found on the web, but can't really say they are "true" to original color (one is same car as posted by limejudge69).

Also, he is interested in learning about history of car. PHS says it was delivered new to Brigham-Gill Pontiac in Natick, Mass. Anyone know anything about this dealer and what kind of sales records might still be around to indicate first owner? Online search says the dealership is still in business.

I am also curious about 350HO on this car. Did they have any "external" markings to show that (ie stripes, emblems, etc.)?

Actually with a green interior I think the green top will look cool. I posted some pics yesterday, but I guess an admin has to approve them. To my knowledge, the only way to tell if a car had the 350 HO was on the air cleaner. I still don't know if this was a sticker on the top, or a sticker on the side?

yes sticker on the front radiator support will show 350 4bbl
The imprint on the air cleaner is PB if I remember correctly and it has a small round air intake snorkel,
unlike the 400/428 4bbl that had a large oval one.

Here's a buddies champagne 69 with mustard gold interior. It originally had a fawn top but he went with black when it was re-done. The champagne gets tons of compliments. Original 400 car.

Thanks again for info and the pic of that champagne/black top ... looks fantastic to me, probably better in real life.

Attached are thews' PHS doc & cowl tag that got jet-lagged.

Also a picture of a GTO with green top I found on the web. It is not on a champagne car, but looks great to me on a similar tone.

The PHS docs have Champagne highlighted in yellow. What code are you reffering that makes you think it's Limelight green?
