I have a 63 v8 crossmember in my 62. But a friend of mine used a 4cyl. in his modifying the 4 cyl. mounts to solid mounts to mount his 455.

The best solution is to use a 63 V8 crossmember. This will bolt right up to the V8 mounts and will put the engine in approx 1" offcenter away from the steering rod giving you more exhaust clearance on that side. The 4 cylinder mounting position is 1" the other way offcenter. It can be made to work, tho.

Matt, ditto to what Dave said. I have a 63 V-8 crossmember if OPH doesn't want it anymore. I would recommend using the 4 cylinder springs for a proper ride height though. When I pull the mocked up motor back out of my car, I can send you the way mine has been set up. JIM

I used the 4 cyc X member that was in my cars.We made mounts that bolted to the original 4 cyc mounts, was not a problem.I also moved the motor toward the pass side on one car to make room for the hyd clutch master cyc..Tom
