67 1B cam
Need advice on getting my 230 1B OHC 6 running after sitting for years in my 1961 MKII jaguar.
I have a newly rebuilt head but cam is original which shows what my be wear. The cam lobes are concave a bit on the rise side. Also have a spare cam out of a 250 1B that looks better than 67. Both cams have no scratches and rockers look smooth with no scratches. See Chicago Musclecar Parts advertises 1967 1B cams for $199. I am inclined to buy a new cam VS using one of my used cams. Anyone have any experience with this supplier or would I be better with one of my one of my used original cams ? |

I would check to see if the cam is new or a regrind. If it is a regrind, you may need to compensate for the reduced base circle. (Depends how much is removed) If it is a regrind, I would just reuse your camshaft with new followers. (Unless you numbered the old ones and kept them in order)

Thanks Jeff will call woodland about cam and about a 1968 restricter tube to replace my 1967 restricter which I have read should be replaced with a 1968 with a .087 cross hole vs my .126 did cross hole.
I have a spare 1968 head but cannot get the restricter out. Thanks again, afantasi |
