Default "Custom" flat firewalls

A few years ago I went to the Detroit Autorama and saw a group of nicely restored or painted GTOs but when I looked under the hood they had flat firewalls. To me it looked out of place on suck nice cars that someone took the time to finish only to had a piece of flat sheet metal where the firewall once was. What do you guys think of this "custom" shotcut?

Not loving it. No heater? No wiper motor? Sounds like NO driving excitement!
