Bummer, Tom.

Did they give a reason? So they could jack the prices up later?

Tom, maybe fly into Columbus or Dayton, rent a car and leave from Cleveland if you can get a non stop back out of Cleveland......

I like the original name of the event--AMES TRI-POWER NATIONALS! We've booked a VRBO for the event. I expect attendance will be huge after missing last year and finally being released from confinement.

I hope there is a ceremony of some type recognizing Steve Ames for his contribution to our hobby since the 1970's! There is so much bad-mouthing of reproduction parts, but realistically, nearly all NOS parts are gone and use ones difficult to find. If not for Ames Performance, we would not be able to do our restorations.

The good news is, you’ll be there when vendors still have the “good stuff!”

Anyone have a recommendation for hearing protection--the earmuff type? I do not like the ear plugs and would like to get muffs for our group.

What have you found that works well?

Even the cheapie ones will help your ears, over nothing.

As you climb up the price ladder, you get better sound attenuation, more comfortable ear pads (important if wearing all day), noise activated ones that allow normal conversation and then noise-cancelling (Bose, for instance). Check your local gun shop for a selection.

I use custom molded silicon ones. They're comfortable, made for my ears and block out a lot of noise compared to standard ear plugs. Cost about $60-70.
