Default 71 Formula 455 HO at Mecum this week...

I'm not sure if this car has been discussed before here. I tried to see about getting it inspected and Mecum didn't return an email or phone call from last week. Anyone know about this one?

I’d be all over that but I’m on track to retire at 55.

Makes me wish I had room for another car.

I used to own this car. PM if anyone is seriously interested I can share what I know. I still have a big stack of receipts and possibly some documentation.

I like it. Has a few issues under the hood, but nothing serious. I would drive it, yup drive...

Very nicely optioned '71, not many of them in '71 turn up with both the 455HO and Ram Air not to mention blue/blue deluxe. Will be watching it Friday online or on TV if it goes thru after the 12:00 TV start time. Good luck if you bid on it!

$90,200. I'd say it sold well!

Yeah, I had a budget of $80k...so I would have lost out. Looks like I need to sell one of my vintage electric guitars, get some more cash together and keep looking.

So was that a numbers block or correct? I know the description said correct but wondering if they just say that now when they aren't 100% sure on that point. Either way that was strong money! I didn't see it go live, was the reserve at $80K or did anyone catch it?

That's a good price for that car. Congrats to the seller.

If you decide to go that route, I would be interested in learning a little more.
