Thumbs up Any PY members have an old cornbinder (International Harvester) product ?

Had a few PM's from other PY members that have an old IH; post and tell us about it.

Cousins old Loadstar 1700 with a V345. No power steering tends to build Hulk Hogan arms.

My wood hauler '70 1600 Loadstar that I replaced the V304 (with 30k miles) with a DV550 & 5 speed combo.

FYI: International is supposed to be the last American owned American truck company.

I used to have a 56 pickup, I think it was called a Red Diamond. My father in-law would only buy Scouts. He was also the service manager for the local IH dealer for many years. The scouts were good vehicles but they sure rusted out in a hurry.

Old U Haul truck 1988 1600 Loadstar, it originally had a 25 foot straight body on it and I bought just the cab and chassis from U Haul. It's a 5 speed Spicer and 7.3 N/A diesel and air ride suspension, 18,000 gvw. I bought a vulcan hydraulic wrecker body and cut about 8 feet out of the frame and the rear axle is now 84 inches from the back of the cab. It's a work in progress and I have the body sitting on the frame and have found the panhard bar is in the way of the wheel lift so I need to move the axle locating bar to the front of the differential. It's too tall to fit into my garage and can only work on it in the driveway so I'm awaiting good weather to get back to work on it.

BTW, I need a PTO to mount the hydraulic pump on the side of the transmission if anyone has one has one hanging around unneeded

My first truck was a 1958 IH R120 4x4 that my Dad took in on trade from a nearby school district around 1977.

I bought it from him so that I could plow my driveway - it had a very early Western plow (serial #1456 - why I remember that I really don't know).

Only had 21,000 on it when I bought it. Sold it for a $500 profit several years later with just under 24,000.

I built a 49 KB-2 for my dad. My brother has it now. It was an old Idaho farm truck that my brother in law picked up. He decided he wasn't going to get around to it and was going to haul it for scrap. My dad and I dragged it to AZ. The motor was shot so I put in an 84 302 I had from an old demolition derby car. I put in a T5 5 speed, and a 9 inch (from another derby car). On the outside it looks stock. The paint is all sun baked off so it's surface rusted, which gives it the old rat rod look. I am at work and can't post pictures, but I will post some later.

You should have seen it before...the grille was like swiss cheese. He found a local metal man who does really nice work and for very reasonable prices.

here in south jersey many farmers have and still use farmall cubs and "A" series.
i can think of about ten farmall from the 50's era that are still in use in within a 5 mile radius of my home. very popular tractors.
my grandpops cub sits rotting in my back yard. constantly get offers on it.
many guys restore em for shows. theres a guy on my street that has a beautiful home and parked next to the cadillac in his garage is a 50's era cub in pristine condition.
were they mcormic before they were international?

Brother in Law has a SuperC Farmall that he cuts grass with. Also has an International Harvester refrigerator I found him sitting in his garage. It's about a 1954 or so.

1974, 1976 & 1980 Scout II's. On a quiet night you can hear them all rusting!
