Default I end up having more things to fix faster than I get to fixing them…

New quartz clock put in.
Speedo quits working.
Wipers quite working.
Get speedo and wipers working.
New wiper motor has washer pump quit.
Clock quits working.
Tach quits working.
Tach fixed.
Speedo quits again.
Open glove box and

That’s what I have also noticed with kids, new cars, house, etc.

Everything that pops up is a thousand bucks.

What AMC stuff do you work on?

The 360 is easy foe me to find stuff for, they were in Jeeps into the 90s.
Everything else is more challenging.

I've been having similar luck lately. For me it's been batteries and tires. I think I've bought 4 batteries this year, and multiple sets of tires.

It never rains but it pours.

Those replacement windshield washer pumps are a joke. So poorly constructed that they can't even be unplugged at the connector without failing.

I like how stuff breaks just sitting in a heated covered garage while sleeping in the winter.

Try owning a used car lot. I deal with cars falling apart for no apparent reason all the time... its called "lot rot".

Cool, I saved a 71 Javelin that was going to be cashed for clunkers about ten years ago. It had been parked since 88 or so,
Carb rebuild, tranny rebuild, new tank, new exhaust, pertronix in oringinal distributor. Welded in subframe connectors.

My driveway paint job did not look bad from a distance at first, but did not hold up well.

"I end up having more things to fix faster than I get to fixing them…"

I get the same thing.... but it's not the fixing of my GTO. The Warden says so.

I almost put a 360 in my CJ5 which is just a trail junker but ended up just doing a cheapie overhaul to the 304.
When I overhauled the 304 I did some modifications to the oil pump in the timing case as AMC oiling systems to help it stay together as amc oiling isn’t the best.

I can totally relate to this thread. I beat on my 455 for 20+ years. Couldn't hurt the thing! Then one day I couldn't keep it running to save my life! now the block is cracked and it's a boat anchor. I always say houses and cars never quit eating cash! Oh well, gotta have something to cuss at!
