I may have to modify a few more for resale. It takes a couple of hours to perform the surgery with the use of side cutters, a Dremel, and paint to change the incorrect tan interior to the light blue as in the film.

Not my car, but several years ago Mike Noun's '69 Firebird was featured in Musclecar Review and not long after it was produced in 1:43 scale die-cast!

Mask and spray SEM Texture Coat for the vinyl top. It's already black, so no additional paint should be required, What I don't have any good suggestions for is the bright molding around the top! Maybe just a thin line of silver paint.

I have several each of 1965 and 1966 GTOs in 1:18 scale. I've been looking for a 1979 Formula Firebird, but so far I can't find any in 1:18 scale. Only those damn Trans Ams.

The only Camaro I have is the 1971 Baldwin Motion Camaro (in red with white stripes) in 1:18 scale in mint condition. So far it's the only one I've ever found or seen that wasn't in a catalog, and that was last summer at the Flea Market a mile away from me.... for 40 bucks. I know it's worth at least 3 times that or more.

I picked up a remote control GTO and painted it to match my car, and also have a die cast of one of my snowmobiles. Combined pictures of them together.

72 Formula promo. Got it as it is silver, like my car. They came in a couple other colors. white and red, if I remember right. Promo's were kind of light on detail. The biggest effort at detail was the fronts and backs. The actual body mold was pretty accurate like a model. All one color, no engine. I got one as a kid, and bet many would up in the hands of "little Johnny" while dad was looking at a real one. For kids already building car models, they were kind of scoffed at

MPC made the Firebird Formula/Trans Am promos. MPC modified the molds into the kit cars, so a few of the parts from a kit fit the promos. In 1977-80, the promos those years actually came in a kit style box and had to be assembled, but did not have a separate engine or opening hood.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the promo models changed for 1975;
So prior to 1975 they came in a plain white box assembled with the closed hood, there after they came unassembled in a retail sized box, but covered in promo images - and a sticker telling of the colour the contained car was.

1975 retail kit:

1975 promo kit:

I believe that the promo kits were Formulas through to 1976, and then changed to the Trans Am for 1977.

I have a Johnny Lightning of my '67 GTO, but I'm still looking for a mint Signet Gold promo with its original box to add to my stuff.
