Default "This is the warranty department calling...

...about your warranty expiring, what year make and model is your vehicle?"

I answer spam calls now just to give them a vintage vehicle: "Thank you! I'm so glad you called so I can keep my car protected! It's a 1929 Ford Model A!"

The number of these calls seem to be dwindling.

I told one that I own a Renault Le Car. They asked the miles. I asked if the warranty covered the lug nuts because I only have 3 per wheel :P

I quit answering numbers I don't recognize. Before I stopped picking up, I was getting 5-10 extended warranty calls a week. Still am I suppose. They don't leave messages usually.

My brother in law visited me recently and he answered every one he got and got in antagonistic conversations. It started making me whacky.

I'm getting ones about health insurance. Sometimes five or six a day and each time it's a different number so no matter how many times you block it they come back with a new number.
Here's one for you... My brother-in-law and his wife visited us the week before Christmas. Within 30 minutes of being in our home he got a call from someone asking him if he wanted to sell his house at OUR address. We live in the Atlanta area and he lives in Tampa Florida.

When I do answer those nonsenses calls, I ask them which car they are calling about. They say they cant say for security purposes. I say you called me, so which car are you calling about. After a little bantering back and forth, I ask them how they like someone wasting their time. Then the RUDE SOB's hang up on me.
Insurance is another one, they are going to save me more money than I am paying. I say great, free insurance.

I actually look forward to these calls cause I answer using a fake old lady voice and just mess with them until they hang up on me

Then I put them on YouTube and forward the videos to whatever outfit they represent

Oh I've got a whole channel dedicated to this stuff lol

Sometimes I have to take it to the next level if the same people insist on calling me

Like this roofing scam for example

They kept calling even though they had the wrong number, so one day I decided to play along by conjuring up my inner hillbilly and just agreed with everything they said.

Scheduled an appointment to have them visit the address they had on file (a place I've never in my life been to, but is somehow tied to my phone number cause many other scammers have used the same address) and when the worker showed up to some stranger's home, I just continued to feed him bull$h!t until he finally got the message.

I mean, if they're gunna waste my time, I will gladly do the same for them

When I'm called and they ask if I'm interested in their warranty I say "Hell yes! I need one for my Jeep GC Laredo." They then ask mileage and year. "182,000 miles and a 2002. Phone goes click and they're gone. If they call again down the road of time and realize the number they called, and I answer, the phone goes click again. Without me saying a single word. LOL It's happened twice now.

I always tell them I am so glad they called I immediately need the extended warranty right away because I done ripped the Oil pan off going down a ski mountain. then I tell them I got a DWI during the incident and I’m going to need a ride to the liquor store. I insist I am paying the insurance and they still want the sale even after the story I tell them. one promised ride just needed my credit card first. Thanks to Sal & Richard taught me well.

A couple of years ago I got a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS telling me I MUST call back right away. Little did they know that both my wife and I retired from the IRS. That evening at a local cruise I did call them back, about every 5 minutes for an hour. They were so mad that they said they were going to have my phone blocked. Great fun!

Gary, I had one that called me 17 times AFTER I told them not to call me again. I contacted the IN AG’s office and filed a criminal complaint. The next time they called (18th time) I read them the complaint number. I haven’t heard from them since.

I got one of those warranty calls one time about my warranty was about to expire. I said it must be a really good warranty when the newest vehicle (at that time) was an 85. Hung up and haven't heard back since.
