Default Tips are the same diameter...

I went to have my exhaust tips welded on today, but the 3 inch splitters I got, are the same diameter as the 3 inch exhaust, so they will not slide on.
Pypes splitter tip's.

Am I missing something here, or did I get the wrong splitters?

I doubt they were made to slip on.

Butt-welding them on shouldn't be a problem, my home-built 3" exhaust is butt-welded at every joint, including the 3" splitters.

Just a little more difficult to hold in place while doing the tacking, and good welder or exhaust guy should be able to handle it easily.

Are you sure the tips are the same exact size? Sometimes they expand a little egg shaped or even the smallest dent in the ridge can prevent them from sliding over. Also, are you sure hte tailpipes are 3"? ARe the tails expanded at the end? If all of these answers are negative, you can return them for replacements or take them to a local shop to be expanded slightly. It would take a shop less than 5 minutes.
