Default What is the best way to install single adjustable front Strange shocks?

Hey everybody,

I feel like I've been taking crazy pills trying to figure out something relatively simple.

What is the best way to install single adjustable front Strange shocks when modifying – clearancing the lower A arm on 72 GTO?

It seems as if you have to open up the stock lower A arm to allow the shock to pass through and clear the adjuster for installation. When I've opened up to clearance to the shock hole, the bolts holes end up breaking into the open space (Now being slotted) – thus not being able to seem to support enough material to support the bolts for the shock to attach to the bottom of spring mount – shock mount.

Maybe I have to make weld bolts to the lower a arm so the shock can mount from the bottom?

Any suggestions for best way to install?

Thanks, Craig

Craig, I installed QA1 double adjustable shocks on our 68 F/B Stock control arms. I had to make two notches for the valving to clear. The shock itself cleared the opening but was tight. I also had to set them, then install without the adjuster knobs. I could never adjust them at the track with the coil in the way. I've sense replaced control arms with Global west.

I agree the tubular LCA may be the best solution.
