with enough money im sure they can run with any of them. they are a budget higher performance head in my opinion. if you're trying to make 600 or more there are better options in my opinion. but to refurbish a set of iron d port heads these are a better alternative in my opinion as long as you don't mind buying headers or manifolds except for the chinesium which can be found in almost everything if you look hard enough, cranks, rods, etc

I talked to Speedmaster, they have 29 orders for Pontiac heads so far. If you want the CNC ported version the part number is PCE281.1801 and they are the bare heads version costing $958 each. I ordered a bare set as I am not sure of my direction yet.

The guy in the youtube link I posted says, Speedmaster claims, 295 Intake, 202 exhaust. out of the box. From his reaction when he disassembles the heads I think he was dubious of those figures, and talks about the bowls needing blending better than the example he was scrutinizing in front of him.

He told me I could type in that number and get all the info and even order if I like. I don't see it
so I wish I asked for the numbers when we talked. My GUESS would be around 310 intake but I'm usually wrong. Sorry.

Default 461 speedmaster combo

I built a 461 with the speedmaster heads. I used the bare castings installed 2.19 SI intake and 1.77 SI exhaust valves ra4 length. I had the bowls cut on the Serdi with the valve job and did some blending in the bowls. I smoothed out the pushrod bulge and opened the port up to match the cnc opening. I have some pictures if anyone is interested. It has a Howards 237/243 hydraulic roller 1.65 rockers and a torker 2 port matched to the heads. It sounds really good. Have not had it to the track yet but hoping for 550-575 hp. I don't have any access to a flow bench close to me but based on my ported edelbrocks I see no reason with this porting and the larger valves these heads won't flow 315-320 on the intake.

Default porting pictures

here a few of the finished ports. The last picture is of the as received intake port opening. The cnc entrance shape and dimension is actually very good. This was just some basic clean up and bowl work that is easy to do. There is a lot of room to raise the roof some for an all out racing deal if you wanted to go that far with these heads.

How much did you open pushrod holes for 1.65 rockers?

Default pushrod holes

With my setup which is ra4 length valves and harland sharp 1.65 rockers no modifications were needed to the pushrod holes for clearance.

Friend of mine Dave Hoover just installed Speedmaster heads on his 474 in his 64 Tempest. Was having some issues with his E heads so he got a set of Speedmasters from Randy Repp. Only thing done to them was the valve springs were changed. Motor has a 240/254 @.050 .390 lobe lift 112 LSA hyd. roller, stock Torker II and a Vortech supercharger. Ran his best 1/8 th mile time of 6.24 and equaled his mph of 112. His Eheads were ported and had 2.11/1.77 valves. He's down in Louisiana at No Problem Raceway this weekend. The race is on MotormaniaTV. He is pleased with the performance of the heads.

What was wrong with the E-Heads?

Just to clarify, the SM heads are designed in Austraila, cast in China, machined and assembled in California. You can call them, they will answer questions and you can order over the phone or online. They are not made by Pro Comp as some have said.

If you do a Google search for Speed Master and Pro Comp Electronics while they don't have the same phone number they do have the same address. 1101 W Rialto Ave
