Default Rally 2 paint

Hi, do you clear coat rally wheels when using the Ames wheel paint, if so what kind of clear? Thanks!!

rally 2 wheels werent glossy originally so using a gloss clear doesnt look right IMO. however, for added protection you can use a matte or maybe satin clear but be sure its a actual wheel paint to withstand heat and contaminants like brake dust better than a normal clear.

i havent used ames paint but had excellent results with rustoleum brand wheel paints, the charcoal is a close match to the original color and the silver looks perfect. i used their matte clear wheel paint for added protection and more correct sheen. it goes on nice and smooth too and has lasted for many years with no signs of rust or failure. cant beat it for $5/can.
