Angry 69 Judge Driver's Door

Last year while at Cruisin The Coast my driver's door; for some reason, would not open. Twl of my friend's wprked on it for a couple of hours and finally got the door to open. Since then, I did not have an event like that until this past Saturday. The exact same thing happened.
That door acts like the locking lever in the ilocked position. Has anyone had this happen to them?????? Anyone ever had this happen to them? If so, what did you do to fix this situation???
Thanks

Put it this way, I started to type another response and gave up. It could be a bunch of different things, maybe several combined. I hate texting, and typing is a strong second.
Your problem is no more than a two hour fix given you have the three potential replacement parts on hand. 100.00 plus parts here in good old Quincy,Illinois

So I you couldn’t open it from the inside either? That would eliminate the outside handle being the problem. Remove door panel and inspect. You probably just need to remove, clean, and and re-lube the door latch/catch mechanism it.

Next time it does it try locking and when you unlock the door push the outside handle in and release it before pulling up on the lock.

I've got a truck this happens to. It's not bad enough to replace the latch yet but it is annoying.

If the hinge pins are not worn out, and the door is perfectly aligned, quick is right...Probably just the latch, try a good dose of PB blaster then a little white lithium greese first without even disassembly. Tooth brush and q-tips to clean what you see.

when the 2 nylon guides that track your pull up rod wear out the rod just flops around and can come out of its guide to the latch...I've seen these for sale in the Year One catalog
