Default Colour Match for Headliner

My wife threatened me with clothes for Christmas if I didn’t buy something for my 66 GTO. I was thinking about a headliner. I just don’t know what colour it came with ? The car is gold with a black vinyl top. The upholstery is black. I was thinking it would be off white with similar trim. I guess it could also be black. Can anyone resolve my inquiry. I’m trying to convince my wife to move to a nudist colony. So the clothes would be redundant.

Headliner would have been black also.

When I bought the car so many years ago, it was painted black with the vinyl roof. I would like to change the colour back to gold. The headliner was painted black ( didn’t do a thorough job) . So did they also change out the gold interior for black ? If so , did the colour code “T 2” come with either the gold or black vinyl interior?

The T and the 2 are the exterior colors. T is Martinique Bronze metallic, while the 2 indicates a black vinyl top. If you're looking for the interior trim color, it's on the same line but over on the left hand side of the data plate. TR for trim followed by three digits. 221 would be bronze, 223 is black.

You are fortunate, black is the only color that the repro headliners seem to match properly ;-)

Finally tracking down the interior code”224” I’ve discovered it is, to my surprise, parchment which answers some of the head scratching with the paint layers. Also adding a new thought. Thanks again for everyone’s input.
