Default 66 A body Radio and speaker wiring diagrams?

I've been cruising around the web, checking all the service manuals for '66 GTO (including the laminate), and for the life of me, I cannot find any wiring diagram supplement covering the radio and speakers. Anyone have either a diagram or something to show color, connections, etc?

I checked my '67 Cutlass FSM - it only shows power and ground to the radio. Sorry...

Not sure what exactly you're after but here are the basic connections for '66-'67.

BLACK-GROUND.
GREEN-SPEAKER.
YELLOW-12V ACC POWER.

The factory dash hardness has the male connector for plug-and-play installs.
Are you missing this?

Hope this helps.

You will find all needed info regarding radio in 1966 Tempest Service Manual Section 15 (Accessories).

Do you have an AM or FM radio? Connections might be different. And If you get yours hooked up and have no sound or just a buzzing from it, you will most likely need a new speaker.

That's why I added a modern Kenwood with a USB plug under the dash. It's stereo and I download music (MP3s) to play. Works great and cheaper than buying a converted GM Pontiac AM/FM to replace your AM. Don't cut up your dash to add any other radio but the Pontiac originals. If you do, you will be very sorry later on. I know many that did that years ago and most are still sorry, but a majority that did have replaced their dash.

I agree with the OP the SM has very limited info.

As far as connections the color code on the wiring is the same regardless.

There is 9 full pages, 15-2 to 15-11, of information in the service manual on all aspects regarding radio installation. This is all but limited info.
