But that car was amazing , and can even step up a little more to be ultra amazing.
The amount and condition of untouched content was over the top

Welcome to PY and congrats on that bowl full of cherries.

Be extremely cautious (aka do not reply) if you get any PM's from newly joined members offering parts.
All the car forums have scammers now looking for parts wanted requests - to rip off.

You will need to call these folks and verify what they have .
Needs to have the dime size ID disc.
The disc also has a date code.
You want the date to be before the car was built. Ideally

You can view a real 67 carb on the 67 Convertible auction currently on BaT.
And some real expensive rebuilts on eBay

Just sent a few moments ago .
The discs are color-coded , and some are natural , by according dates and applications.
So don't let a color variance be a detractor.

Have seen silver gold red green and blue , so far.

So you really want a carb tag with C7 D7 or E7 date range

That disc is a mix of 1. Wrong color. 2. Wrong Number. 3. Wrong style hole in the center.

Not all assembly line 1967 Rochester Quadrajet came with the round aluminum disc.

I’ve owned several ‘67 with the #7027262 stamped vertically on LH side of carb body as shown below on an Unrestored Survivor.

Have never seen a 66 or 67 Qjet with stamped ID.
Chevy and Olds used them in 66
Always the Disc.

If I were buying one , it would have to be a Disc ID

Looks like the repop discs might all be done in red now regardless of date or code.
Did see a gold one offered , but it might have been an original.
Round holes in the disc is all I can remember seeing before.

I think the 66 Pontiac Sprint 6 "might" have used a Qjet
But on the whole Pontiac didn't switch to them until 67

And of those "disc" era Qjets - only the 67 Pontiac V8 units had the strait fuel inlet.
All others were side inlet.

Some of the 67 full size 400 V8's still used an AFB
The Qjet came with 670 head 400's and 428's

Thanks you guys- for all the info,its very helpful as my strong points are Buick GS cars.I'm used to identifying carbs by the numbers stamped on the carb body.Will the steel shim plate be tough to source? guess I'll throw this out as well,does anyone have a correct dated voltage reg for this goat? My plan is to find a carb,regulator and a Gardner Exh.Thanks Joe

Here are couple pics from an eBay 67 intake.
The holes up front with a trough connecting them is a heat crossover that allows hot exhaust to circulate and warm the carb. Good cold weather feature - but bad for anything else.

If the shimplate gets left out it warps the baseplate.
Most guys today are drilling and tapping those holes and installing hex head pipe plugs.
Intake would need to be off the car for safest removal of the metal shavings.

I'm not sure if epoxies would endure the heat to plug the holes - but maybe there are products now.

Baron, Yes the 1966 OHC 6 SPRINT is the 1st Pontiac to utilize the Q-Jet.
