'67-68 Firebird PS Pump Brackets?
I'm looking for the exploded view (from the factory parts manual) of the 1st Gen. power steering pump and alternator mounts. I bought a '75 Firebird that has the early PS pump assembly and I think I'm missing some spacers and have wrong alternator brackets. I'm hoping the exploded view will make it all clear.

This is out of my 68 Firebird factory manual.

68 Firebird. IA2 block, 505 cu in, E-head, Solid roller 3650 weight. Reid TH400 4:11 gear. 29" slick. Best so far 10.12@133 mph. 1.43 60 ft. 76 Trans am, TKX .81 o/d, 3.73 Moser rearend, 468 with KRE D-ports, Doug headers, 3" Exh. |

I could be wrong, but isn’t the only difference in the later setups the bigger one piece top Alt bracket that also bolts to the side of the intake besides at the water outlet?

The early bracket (seen in post #2) is an aluminum casting. The later bracket is stamped steel and the pump is different. And the early one sets the pump pulley closer to the head by about 1/2" (my recent ah-ha discovery from searching old threads.

71 and later also have an extra bolt for the extra hole on the heads. (I think)
So depends on the timing cover you are using. (for spacing usually)
