How could one not buy that if it was in front of you? A little off kilter on the mojo, but 1000 on the mojo meter anyway.

I was checking CL for a friend who is considering an early GTO, or even a clone, and came across this one not too far away. Right off the bat there are flags. Not many pictures, none of the whole car. Price too low for the description. Vague title, doesn't even mention it being a GTO .
So I replied back through CL saying that I live just a couple of hours away and would like to see the car. I didn't leave a phone # or e-mail address so he would have to respond through CL . Two days now and no response. I'm not surprised.

If you enlarge the map on the listing it shows the location right in the middle of Lake Michigan!

If you put the address in Google maps it does show an actual location but it is deeeeep in the woods. You can just make out the roof of a house but first you just see what appears to be a corral of some type.
I think it's probably legit from the wording in the ad. Some folks just suck at taking car pics and ad writing. Sometimes that's where you find your deals because most will be turned off by the poor presentation.

And it being in the middle of nowhere. Just judging from what I see in the pics, I could easily see those pics being in Rinelander.

If you google the address it shows a realtor site showing the house. The car in question is shown in a picture where its in an open door garage.

350 emblem on rocker is a big fat rad flag! Looks like re-sale red to me!

I don't see a 350 emblem on the rockers, I see 400 emblems. But it could be resale red.

Some people add those fender emblems to the rocker trim for some reason. That alone wouldn't turn me off. There is an old black and white photo from a dealers showroom that was floating around at one time that showed what was clearly a '68 GTO in the showroom with one on the rocker trim. I may have it saved somewhere but it was years ago.
Good detective work Heybuck.

Couldn't find the pic I was looking for but found two pics of '68s with rocker callouts on Mike Noun's site... Not saying any left the factory that way, just saying that it's not a killer.
