I dunno... did you see the bulge in the center of the dash? Looks like this was hit hard. Assume you took that on and did a really good job with a period correct engine and transmission. What would it be worth? How much would you have to put into it? Without the original engine this car is a money pit IMO.

I don't think that is the original dash. Probably just threw it in there to make the car look more complete.

My first Pontiac was a 70 GTO 455 4-speed car, so I'm partial to them. 70 GTO 4-speed black/red at $75K in Illinois. Interior is beautiful. Engine has a stupid decal on the air cleaner. Would look better without the Judge stripes. Nice car with Edelbrock aluminum heads.

Where did he get the integrated-looking speaker kick panels? Homemade?

68 Firebird convertible dealer car in Georgia at $49K BIN. Nice car other than the steering wheel. I love the teal interior. This car is priced close to what's it worth IMO.

Some of the restoration parts catalogs had them for years , maybe they still do.
Have not looked around in them lately.

I actually don't mind the steering wheel in that 1968 bird --- it is the incorrect engine paint color that bugs the heck out of me. When someone can't get the engine color right, I always know there are tons of others things they did wrong inside the engine too.

I have a bigger problem with the cheap PUI repop seat covers than the steering wheel.

Auction listing says no longer available, so perhaps it sold. I think it looks great with the red stripes.

Here's a color I've never heard of. Dealer car 72 Lemans in Brittany Beige in Michigan at $33K BIN. It looks so much better without the judge wing and Ram Air stickers on the hood. Nicely optioned car, and, just like 92% of them, it has the wrong decals on the air cleaner.

I agree about the wrong engine color on 1966-70 cars. It really puts me off a otherwise good looking car. I also don't mind the steering wheel, as I never cared for the 68 steering wheels.

78 Trans AM 4-speed in Nevada at BIN $14K OBO. Doesn't run but seems to be all there. Calif car so there should be minimal rust. If this were an automatic, it would sell for half of what a 4-speed with get. You could prolly talk this seller down some, but FWIW there's 20 watchers.

81 Firebird "No rust" in Arizona at NR $1.0. This would make a great base for any T/A clone. It runs and the mags on it aren't included.. good.

Happy Fantasy Football Super Bowl Sunday... I like my odds today. I'm not much into modified cars, but I'd drive this one. 77 T/A LS1 with $169K into it in Tennessee at $10K with a reserve. Former SEMA 2016 show car, it only has 350 miles on it since it was finished. My guess is it'll bid up to over $50K and fail to meet the reserve. Engine has a lot of wasted money in bling and while I sorta like the interior, I kinda don't.

69 Firebird dealer car at $45K BIN in Texas. Nice enough car, but some very simple mistakes make this car worth much less. The waterbed steering wheel, shifter, aftermarket wheels, a real 400 hood, Pontiac air cleaner with stock chrome valve covers and console could be changed and this would look like a different car. 455 with 6X heads.

67 326 HO 4-speed Firebird convertible at BIN OBO $29.5K in Connecticut. Nice car and great colors in Aqua metallic green with turquoise interior. Could use a stock steering wheel.

I'm in the same boat actually. as soon as the snow clears up I'll be selling my 69. I fully expect it to be scrutinized once I do, but I realize it's flaws. I won't be asking $40K that's for sure, so for what it is, I think I'll get what I want out of it. I've learned a lot of things to look for from the experts. I never realize PUI seat covers were not the best choice... my car has them.
